A sustainable smart lighting transformation with
    Interact City

As one of the leading consultancy firms for electrical engineering in northeastern Switzerland, IBG spearheaded Gaiserwald’s lighting transformation by using sustainable and energy-efficient LED technology. They chose Interact City software to easily manage and control all of the city’s luminaires, while setting up extensive automation to maximize energy efficiency.

With Interact City, we’re giving our customers pioneering technology, sustainability, and excellent cost effectiveness in one package.”

    Customer Challenge

What if street lighting, as well as saving energy, could play an active role in local life? Imagine if each luminaire consistently produced precisely the right amount of light necessary for good visibility and an improved feeling of safety? From early evening to the middle of the night. During a public holiday or a lively street party. For IBG, the only correct lighting solution for the municipality of Gaiserwald would be one that could meet these needs.

Remote management from an intuitive dashboard

IBG Engineering  Street Lighting Project Manager, Jürgen Heber, enthusiastically adopted the new system for two reasons. First, our Swiss distribution partner ELEKTRON provided active support throughout the integration process by offering dependable solutions for any of his requirements. And secondly, Heber appreciates Interact City’s user-friendly dashboard, enabling him to manage the new LED luminaires directly from his desk – online and without additional software or the need for substantial training.

The solution is simple. Any street lighting point connected to the Interact City Lighting asset management software immediately reports any problems via email as well as automatically communicates its technical data, nominal service time and energy consumption. That means that Jürgen Heber and other city officials can rest assured that everything’s running smoothly in Gaiserwald – and that every LED luminaire is saving as much as 60% more energy than the municipality’s former sodium lamps.
